There are 3 ways to use the funds allocated to the Reserves:
- Send an ACH Payment or Mailed Check directly from the Reserve
- Reassign an external withdrawal transaction to be paid from a Reserve after it occurs
- Release funds from the Reserves to reimburse your Available Balance
When an ACH Payment or Mailed Check is sent directly from a Reserve, only your Total Account Balance and your Reserve Balance will decrease.
When a transaction is reassigned to a Reserve, the funds are transferred from the Reserves to the Available Balance, but the Total Account Balance is not affected.
When funds are released from the Reserves, unless another Reserve is selected, the funds will transfer to the Available Balance. The Total Account Balance is not affected.
Releasing funds from the Reserves or adding funds to the Reserves does not affect the Total Account Balance since it is not a sub account.
The Total Account Balance will only increase or decrease when a deposit or withdrawal is made to/from the account. Deposit and withdrawal activity will be appropriately reflected in your banking account statement and should align with your Total Account Balance.
Please note that Reserves are not a sub account and the feature is intended as a budgeting tool. Funds are allocated to Reserves, but will always be a part of your Total Account Balance. Reserves activity will not be reflected in your banking account statement.
